The Lindenwood women's tennis team fell in its home opener to the Saint Louis University Billikens on Wednesday, 9-0.
In singles action,
Adela Slovakova lost to Jenny Nalepa 6-0, 6-0,
Mariona Pinol fell to Stephanie Hollis 6-1, 6-0, and
Sarah Sharpe was defeated by Brooke Urzendowski 6-0, 6-1. Along with the top three matches, Severine DeBauf,
Rachel Bailey, and
Brigitte Bustamante also fell to individual Billikens, and none won more than three games.
The Lady Lions also competed in women's doubles with Slovakova and Sharpe pairing up but losing 8-2. Pinol and Bustamante also fell with a score of 8-0, while Debauf and Bailey teamed against Madeline Jolly and Brooke Urzendowski, but were unable to come back in an 8-2 loss.
The Lady Lions will travel to the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday. Starting time is at 4 p.m.
