Baseball Defeats Arkansas Tech 12-5

Box Score The Lindenwood baseball team closed out a weekend trip to Russellville, Ark. with a 12-5 win over Arkansas Tech.  

The Lions jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after three innings. Arkansas Tech answered Lindenwood's runs with a three run frame in the bottom of the third. The Wonder Boys scored single runs in the fourth and the fifth to take a 5-3 lead.

The visitors did not go down quietly. The Lions scored three runs in the sixth and four runs in the seventh inning. Lindenwood added two more insurance runs in the top of the ninth and rolled to the 12-5 win.

The Lions out hit Arkansas Tech 17-8 and both teams committed two errors. Jason Streigel, Zach Kurzejeski, and Dylan Lowery all had three hits. Zach Loraine drove in three runs, and Wade Rothermich had two RBIs.

Lindenwood used four pitchers to throw nine innings. Austin Klein started and got the no decision while Brian Hruby pitched 2 1/3 innings for the win.

The win moves the Lions to 4-5 on the season. Up next for Lindenwood is a weekend trip to Memphis, Tenn. to take on Christian Brothers University.
