Box Score 2 The Lindenwood women's volleyball squad took the split on Friday afternoon on day one of the Arkansas Tech Spikefest. The Lady Lions would defeat Arkansas Tech 3-2 in match one before falling to Central Oklahoma 3-0 in the afternoon session.
The Lady Lions see-sawed back-and-forth with Arkansas Tech through the first four sets before ultimately taking control of the match in set five. The Golden Suns would take set one 26-24 and set four 25-19 while the Lady Lions captured sets two (25-21) and three (28-26). The Lady Lions started off sluggish in the third set, falling to a 2-8 margin early. Lindenwood would battle back into the set several times, even facing set point on four separate occasions before pulling away at the end.
Lindenwood held Arkansas Tech to a .152 clip in match one including two matches under the .100 mark while the Lady Lions hit .182 as a team.

Katie Weber led the Lady Lions in match one, tying her career-high kills with 19 and career-high service aces with four. Along with her 3.8 kills per set and .341 hitting percentage, Weber contributed eight digs and 24.5 points. Three other players would add double-digit kills, including
Kelsey Kennedy with 15 and Nicole Hallum with 13. Hallum tallied 10 digs during the match to mark her first collegiate double-double.
The momentum that Lindenwood had after the five-set victory in the morning would not carry over into the second session of the day as the Central Oklahoma Bronchos would take the Lady Lions in straight sets. Both squads would battle back-and-forth down to the last two points of the first two sets, as the Bronchos would win sets one and two by two points a piece. Lindenwood never bounced back before falling 25-18 in set three.
Central Oklahoma outhit Lindenwood .223 to .143 in the three sets. Morgan Roy for the Bronchos tallied a match-high 21 kills along with contributing 11 digs for Central Oklahoma.
Weber finished match two with ten kills, leading the Lady Lions in that category. Freshman
Kayla Guyot contributed nine of her own.
Emma Brydels tallied 29 assists in match two after recording 47 in match one. Senior libero
Kaila Schrimpf recorded 44 digs total for both matches.
Lindenwood now moves to 4-2 on the season. The Lady Lions hit the floor again tomorrow for two more match-ups during day two of the Arkansas Tech Spikefest. In the morning session, Lindenwood will take-on McKendree (Ill.) University for a 9:00 a.m. start time. At 3:00 p.m., Lindenwood is scheduled to take-on the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
