The Lindenwood men's and women's cross country team competed in the Jackling Jock Invitational on Saturday in Rolla, Missouri. Both squads held their ground respectively with strong finishes.
The men's team finished fifth overall in the 8k race with
Nicholas Stewart leading the way with a time of 26:13.03 and placing 14
th overall.
Travis Staebell finished second, running 26:42.34 and placing 22nd in the race.
Ben McGraw crossed the finish line at 26:50.94, just four seconds after Staebell and 24th overall.
Brady Novak ran a time of 26:58.29, finishing 4th for the Lions and 30th overall. FInally
David Sjogren scored 5th for Lindenwood and 40th overall at 27:12.48.
The Lady Lions placed 6th in the 5k race. Freshman Ann Cherotich finished first for LIndenwood and 15th overall running a time of 19:13.41.
Amanda Brisso placed 37th overall and second for the Lady Lions at 20:19.74.
Aaryn Edge placed 52nd overall and third for Lindenwood as she crosed the finish line at 20:49.60.
Jennifer Carter followed Edge shortly after, as she finished fourth for the team and 56th overall with a time of 20:58.02. Lastly, Katie Senger-Brosamer scored fifth for Lindenwood and 64th overall at 21:30.63.
Lindenwood men's and women's cross country returns to the course in two weeks when they travel to Pittsburg, Kansas to compete in the MIAA Conference Championships on October 26th.
