Men's Cross Country Wins Silver Race At Greater Louisville Classic

A balanced effort helped the Lindenwood men's cross country team win the silver race at Saturday's Greater Louisville Classic. The women's team came in fourth at the event.

The men's team had six runners finish within 37 seconds of each other. The Lions finished with 89 points, 12 better than runner-up Carnegie Mellon, and ahead of 37 other programs.

Lindenwood was led by Brady Novak who came in 13th out of 319 runners with a time of 26:51. Also finishing in the top 30 were Ben McGraw in 15th (26:56) and Nicholas Stewart in 17th(27:00). In the next pack about 25 seconds later, Travis Staebell came in 29th, Colin Cernik was 30th, and David Sjogren was 31st.

The women's race was marred by rain during the final minutes which disrupted the meet's timing system.  Unofficially, Lindenwood finished fourth out of 33 teams. Courtney Heidorn was 22nd overall, Ann Cherotich was 27th, Jennifer Carter was 64th, Aaryn Edge was 71st, and Mar Kay Brosamer-Senger was 83rd.

Lindenwood will be in action again next Saturday at the Jackling Jocks Invitational in Rolla, Mo.
