Men's water polo swept the second of two Missouri Valley Conference Crossover meets with three wins October 5-6 in Carbondale, Ill.
The Lions faced Washington University (Mo.) in their first game of the day on Saturday and took control early, swimming to an 8-4 lead at halftime. Lindenwood continued to pressure the Bears and never let them back in the game en route to a 17-9 win on the strength of five goals from Toni Storic.
In the second game of the day, the Lions defeated Southern Illinois University 21-7. Diego Aldea and Alex Beltrol each scored four goals. Bradley Hammel made five saves and scored a pool length goal in just a quarter of play.
Expecting a third game of the weekend on Sunday, the Lions instead received a 5-0 forfeit win from Truman State University.
With the three victories, Lindenwood improved to 12-5 overall and 7-0 in conference play. The Lions also extending their winning streak to 11 straight games.
They'll have three weeks off before hosting the Missouri Valley Division Championship at the St. Peters Rec-Plex October 26-27 in St. Peters, Mo.
