After two wins at the first leg of the "Texas Swing" the first week of January, the debate team posted another solid performance at the second half of the event, hosted by the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas January 9-11.

Nicole Nave and Tatyana Wingo teamed to take third place in the Junior division while Carlo Barth and Adam Mire finished fifth. Four Lindenwood debaters were recognized as Top Speakers at the event. Alex Johnson took second in the Novice division with Charles De Leon finishing fourth. Nave was third in the Junior division with Mire finishing fourth.

The University of North Texas tournament attracted more than 170 competitors from 25 different schools.

Earlier in the week, the Lions achieved a program first by winning both the Novice and Junior divisions at the "Texas Two Step" tournament in Dallas.

Lindenwood returns to competition at the Wichita State Invitational January 24-26 in Wichita, Kan.
