The men's and women's cross country teams travelled to Evansville, Ind. to compete in the Evansville Cross Country Invitational. The men finished second out of five teams, while the women finished third out of the six teams competing.
Â
The men were led by sophomore
Nicholas Stewart, who finished second overall in the invitational. Following Stewart was
Travis Staebell, who came across fifth giving Lindenwood to top 5 finishers.
Colin Cernik finished next for the Lions, just missing a top ten by being the 11th person to cross the finish line. These finishes were good enough for Lindenwood's men to come in second.
Â
The Lady Lions were led by two freshman, Hannah Rae Finchamp, who finished sixth overall and Ashley Lapointe who finished 13th. Crossing the finish line back to back for the 15th and 16th overall finishes were a pair of juniors
Carina Bungard and
Jennifer Carter. This helped the Lady Lions secure third.
Â
Coming up next for the cross country teams is the last event of the regular season. Both teams won't have to travel far on October 25th, as they participate in the St. Louis Fall Classic.
