Over the weekend, Lindenwood's cross country teams participated in the St. Louis Fall Classic hosted by St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Both teams had to deal with warm weather with the weather reaching 85 degrees. Despite the difficult conditions, the men's team came in 5th out of the 14 competing teams and the women came in 6th out of 18 teams.
Crossing the finish line first for the Lady Lions in the 5,000 meters was junior
Carina Bungard, securing a top-25 spot by finishing 21st. Following Bungard was senior Terah Ege, who just recently rejoined the cross country team and finished well coming in 27th. Â A pair of freshman,
Elyse Flores and Ashley Lapointe came in third and fourth for Lindenwood. Â
Leading the charge for the Lindenwood men's team in the 8,000 meters was sophomore
Nicholas Stewart, crossing the finish line ninth. Fellow sophomore
Travis Staebell was the other Lion to finish in the top-25, finishing 22nd. Â
Paul Golian finished third for Lions coming in at 33rd overall. Sophomore
Colin Cernik finished fourth for the Lions.
The St. Louis Fall Classic was Lindenwood's last regular season event. Coming up next for the cross country teams is the MIAA Championships at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo. on November 11th.
