The Lindenwood men's and women's tennis teams competed against Emporia State on Friday with the men winning its dual 7-2 while the women fell 7-2.
Andre Masin and
Johannes Rabenhorst started the dual with a doubles win. The Lions fell in the second doubles match but regained the lead after Slabodor Bovrlic and
Filip Bogic won 8-2 in their match. Lindenwood took five of the six singles matches to put the dual out of reach.
Masin defeated his opponent 6-1 and 6-1 then was followed by a Bogic 6-1, 6-2 victory. Yoshi Ysa and Rabenhorst defeated their opponents 6-2 and 6-2 respectively.Â
Nicholas Bruenger was the last Lions to earn a victory as he won 6-3 and 6-2.
The women did not fare as well dropping all but one singles match.Â
Mariona Pinol and
Daria Ivanova won their doubles match 8-6. Pinol was victorious in her singles match 7-6 and 6-2 to give the Lady Lions their only two points.
Both the Lindenwood tennis teams will compete in Bolivar, Mo. to take on Southwest Baptist.
