Live VideoNCAA Tournament StatisticsNCAA Tournament History/RecordsLindenwood Tournament Notes- The Lindenwood women's lacrosse team has advanced to the semifinal round of the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament. The No. 6 Lady Lions take on No. 5 Lock Haven on Saturday in Salem, Va. The winner of that game plays for the national championship on Sunday versus the winner of the No. 1 Adelphi/No. 3 LIU Post matchup.
- Lindenwood reached the NCAA Tournament in its first season of eligibility. The Lady Lions are just in their third year as a varsity program after moving up for the club level.
- Reflecting the growth of the sport of women's lacrosse, Lindenwood is the first school west of the Mississippi River to make the NCAA Division II Tournament.
- Lindenwood won the inaugural Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) this season with a 5-0 record. The Lady Lions are 23-0 in conference games since moving to the NCAA Division II level, and they have won three conference championships. The team won the WILA Championship in 2012 and 2013.
- Lindenwood is 4-3 this season against nationally-ranked opponents, including a 2-2 mark against teams ranked in the top-five at the time Lindenwood played them. The Lady Lions had not defeated a ranked team before this season.
- The Lady Lions are 45-7 at the NCAA level.
- Lindenwood is looking to become the first team since Adelphi in 2004 to win the NCAA Tournament in its first appearance in the national tournament.

Melissa Smith were first-team selections, the first two players at Lindenwood to be named to the first-team. Goalie
Christine Hehmeyer was a second-team all-region pick. Attack
Shelby Polk was a second-team selection in 2013.
- Ten Lady Lions were named all-conference this year.
Melissa Menchella was the RMAC Player of the Year, and
Melissa Smith was the RMAC Midfielder of the Year. Joining them on the first-team were
Erin Abbott and
Stephanie Tirman. Second-team selections were
Shelby Polk,
Savannah Phillips, and
Christine Hehmeyer. Third-team honors went to
Amanda Schimpke,
Jordyn Constance, and
Kirsten Walkland.

Melissa Smith is just five goals away from setting the school's single-season record for goals (58).

Melissa Smith has already set a school single-season record for groundballs with 48, and
Erin Abbott has set the mark for caused turnovers with 24.
- In just two seasons,
Melissa Smith has the most points in Lindenwood's NCAA history with 143.
Melissa Menchella is one behind, and
Lindsey Palmer has 137. Menchella is the career leader with 114 goals, and Palmer leads with 63 career assists.
- Goalie
Christine Hehmeyer has started every game but three since Lindenwood has moved to the NCAA level. She has won 42 games and has a .462 save percentage for her career.
- In seven games against ranked teams,
Melissa Smith leads the team with 12 assists and 31 points.
Melissa Menchella has a team-high 20 goals.
Christine Hehmeyer has a .471 save percentage, and made over nine saves a game.
- Lindenwood has five seniors on this year's roster. Two,
Christine Hehmeyer and
Stephanie Tirman, are the last remaining members from the program's club era. The others are
Shelby Polk,
Melissa Smith, and
Kirsten Walkland.
- Lindenwood is 0-2 all-time against the rest of the field remaining in the NCAA Tournament. The Lady Lions have not faced their semifinal opponent, Lock Haven, or LIU Post. The team is 0-2 against Adelphi, including a two-goal loss earlier this year.
