This weekend Lindenwood's men and women's cross country teams competed in the First to the Finish Southern Stampede in Joplin, Mo. The women's team finished in the top half of the competing teams by finishing tenth out of the 24. The men managed to finish sixth out of the twenty teams competing.

Leading the charge for the men was
Nicholas Stewart, who finished fourth overall out of 171 runners and first for Lindenwood. Following Stewart was
Colin Cernik with an 11th place finish.
Travis Staebell finished 16th, giving the men three top 20 finishers for the event. This gave the men's team a sixth place finish.

For the women
Ashley LaPointe was the first finisher for Lindenwood, finishing 44th overall out of 198 runners.
Aaryn Edge followed closely, finishing 51st, then
Carina Bungard at 55th. These results gave the women a tenth place finish.

Coming up next for the Lindenwood cross country teams is the Chile Pepper Festival on October 4th, hosted by University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark.
