Both the men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Principia College "Cowbell" XC Invite Saturday afternoon. The men tied for first place with 45 team points, while the women dominated the field totaling 22 points as a team.

The men had three finish in the top 10 including
Colin Cernik placing second,
Travis Staebell finishing fifth, and
Ero Doce rounding out the top 10. Cernik finished just 17 seconds behind the first place runner, while Staebell completed the race with as time of 26:01.0 and Doce only 33 seconds behind him in 10th place.

Of the 61 runners, Lindenwood placed all five participants in the top 17.

The women lit up the field with the top five finishers finishing in the top seven and totaling just 22 points, 44 ahead of the next team.
Lisa Feuerherdt won the race with a time of 22:14.62 beating the second-place runner by a minute and 20 seconds.
Carina Bungard placed third with a time of 23:47.76.

Ashley Myers,
Riley Dovel finished fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively. All runners finished within eight seconds of each other between the times of 23:58.15 and 24:06.36.

Next up for both teams is the MIAA meet on October 24 in Hays, Kan. with both in prime position to win the conference championship.
