Both the men's and women's cross country teams finished eighth in their respective races Saturday afternoon at the MIAA Championships in Hays, Kan.
In the women's 5k race,
Lisa Feuerherdt led the way for the Lady Lions placing ninth and earning All-Conference honors for Lindenwood. The junior finished with a time of 22:33.00 and was less than one second from being in eighth place as an individual. The top 10 in the race was rewarded with the MIAA accolade.
Carina Bungard ended the race in 38th and was second on the team with a time of 24:14.00.

Jennifer Carter placed 50th, 51st, and 54th, respectively for Lindenwood.
Ashley Myers and Elise Flores were sixth and seventh on the team just more than five minutes from the leaders.
Going into the Central Region meet on November 7, the Lady Lions' XC team has placed first in two meets, second in another, and seventh, before finishing eighth in conference.
For the men,
Colin Cernik was at the top of the pack for the team, but finished 25th with a time of 25:40.20 while
Travis Staebell was right behind him at 25:58.20
Ero Doce, Michael Golian,
Jerod Broadbooks, and Zach McKinley finished 62nd, 64th, 67th, and 70th, respectively for the Lions to end in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th for the team.
After finishing eighth as a team, the Lions head into the Central Regional meet with three first-place finishes and a fifth-place finish.
Southwest Baptist took the women's crown for the second time in three years, while Nebraska-Kearney won the men's side for the first time in school history.
Both the men's and women's regional meet is on November 7 in Joplin, Mo.
