The Lindenwood women's cross country team finished 16th in a field of 31, while the men finished 17th in a 27 team field Saturday afternoon at the Central Regional Championships in Joplin, Mo.
Placing just ahead of Sioux Falls to claim 16th as a team with 471 points, the women had three runners finish in the top 100.
Lisa Feuerherdt led the Lady Lions finishing 29th with a time of 22:09.73, while teammates
Hannah Finchamp and
Riley Dovel placed 92nd and 100th.
Aaryn Edge timed out at 24:00.57 in 113th,
Jennifer Carter finished in 137th, and
Carina Bungard placed 145th in the 208 runner field.
MIAA for Southwest Baptist took the regional crown, with three other conference opponents finished in the top 10.
The men accumulated 422 points to finish 17th in the 27 team field.
Travis Staebell led the Lions once again, this time finishing 52nd with a time of 32:03.92. Placing 60th and 88th were teammates
Colin Cernik and
Ero Doce, respectively.
Paul Golian crossed the finish line at 33:19.27 in 104th.
Jerod Broadbooks finished 118th, while
Zachary McKinley placed 147th in the 176 runner competition.
Augustana won the men's race, while Nebraska-Kearney was the first MIAA team to finish at third.
The Division Cross Country National Meet is Saturday, November 21in Joplin, Mo.
