The men's and women's Lindenwood cross country team's finished fifth and seventh, respectively, at the Rhodes XC Invitational in Memphis, Tenn. on Saturday afternoon.
For the men, junior
Travis Staebell led the way for the Lions finishing 12th overall with an 8k time of 26:31.60 and accumulating 10 points for the team. Just behind him in 14th and receiving 12 points was
Colin Cernik with a total time of 26:38.70.
Freshman
Ero Doce finished 27th, while teammates Michael Golian and
Jerod Broadbooks ended the race in 56th and 57th, respectively. As a team, Lindenwood had 148 total points to finish in fifth, only 10 points behind fourth place finisher Tennessee-Martin.
In the women's race, Lisa Feurherdt paced the Lady Lions in the 6k race finishing seventh with a time of 22:00.67. Hannah Rae Finchamp was the second Lindenwood runner to round out the top 20 with a time of 23:28.54.
Aaryn Edge,
Carina Bungard, and
Riley Dovel finished 24th, 45th, and 46th, respectively, for the Lady Lions. Senior
Jennifer Carter finished the race at 25:15.75.
The Lindenwood women scored 140 points, finishing seventh as a team.
Both cross country squads will compete next at the Cowbell Classic in Elsah, Ill on Saturday, October 10th, at 11 a.m.
