The Lindenwood cross country teams opened up their seasons hosting Truman State for a dual. Both Lindenwood teams came out with a victory, with the men scoring a low of 22 compared to Truman State's 34, while the women barely pulled out the victory, finishing with 28 to Truman State's 29.

Leading the way for the men's team was newcomer
Ero Doce, who had teammate
Colin Cernik right on his heels to give the Lions a one-two finish.
Jerod Broadbooks finished fourth, giving the Lions three out of the top five.

Standing out for the Lady Lions was another newcomer
Lisa Feuerherdt, who finished second, followed by
Aaryn Edge, who came in third. In their first races as Lady Lions
Riley Dovel and Ashley Meyers finished fifth and sixth to help give the Lady Lions the victory.

After starting the season with a win, both Lindenwood cross country teams next event will take place in St. Louis, Mo. at the Forest Park Cross Country Invitational on September 11th.Â
