The Lindenwood cross country teams were racing on familiar ground on Saturday afternoon at the MIAA Championships in Elsah, Ill. after competing at the Cowbell Classic just a couple weeks prior.
Heading into the race, the men were No. 6 in the latest Central Regional rankings.
Ero Doce finished first for the second-consecutive race for the men, this time placing 16th overall with a time of 25:33.73 in the 8k.

Teammates
Jerod Broadbooks (25:53.64) and
Austin Crowe (25:54.64) finished in the top-27 and one second a part from one another.

Colin Cernik (26:05.64) was not far behind the pack, finishing 36th overall.
Travis Staebell (26:41.87),
Omar Es Salmouny (26:55.88), and Zach McKinley (27:54.59) rounded out the scoring for the men.

Freshman
Joaquin Castillo ended the race for Lindenwood in 88th, crossing the finish line in 29:09.89.

Overall, the men placed seventh as a team earning a total of 159 points, and just 14 points back from Nebraska-Kearney. The seventh-place finish is the best since Lindenwood joined NCAA Division II and the MIAA.
Freshman
Anna-Lena Theisen (22:54.52)Â once again led the women's team, finishing 28 seconds better than her time a couple weeks ago on the same course.
Kayli Brower placed 51st in 24:32.88, which is also better than her time at the Principia Cowbell Classic.
Amanda Brisso (25:11.86) and
Ashley LaPointe (25:17.42) finished 63rd and 64th, respectively, while
Caitlyn Most (25:55.97)Â cross the line in 75th.
Elyse Flores (27:07.53) and Keley Robertson (28:33.89)Â finished the race for Lindenwood in 83rd and 87th, respectively.
The women placed ninth as a team, totaling 250 points, just ahead of Emporia State with 254.
The teams will get a couple weeks off before traveling to Sioux Falls, S.D. for the Central Regional Championships
