The Lindenwood women's tennis team had a tough day against the University of Missouri-St. Louis as they lost 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon. It was the Lady Lions' first dual loss of the season after starting off with four wins.
In doubles, each match was competitive.
Gloria Marras and
Clara Piccamiglio came the closest to pulling off their match at No. 1, only falling 8-6. The other two doubles teams were edged out by a final score of 8-4 each.
Anna Barbasheva split sets at No. 1 singles as she won the first set 6-1, but her opponent came back and won 6-1, 6-1.
Rebeca Aguilar battled tough at No. 5 singles as she came close to winning the second set. She lost by a final score of 6-3, 6-4.
Diana Castro was tied at five games apiece at No. 4 singles, but she had to default.
The Lady Lions will return to the courts on Thursday to take on Emporia State for the first MIAA match of the season. Play starts at 2 pm.
