The Lindenwood cross country teams competed at the Brissman/Lundeen Cross County Invitation Friday night in Rock Island, Ill.
Omar Es Salmouny led the men's team to a first-place finish in the blue race, while
Anna-Lena Theisen finished third overall for the second-place women.
The men had two top-10 finishers, including Es Salmouny.
Ero Doce placed seventh overall, while
Colin Cernik finished 17th.
Austin Crowe and
Jerod Broadbooks rounded out the men who scored for the team with 24th and 25th-place finishes, respectively.
Along with Theisen,
Kayli Brower also finished in the top 10 as she placed eighth. Like Cernik on the men's team,
Amanda Brisso placed 17th. The women's team finished with 125 team points, just ahead of the 129-point Bethel College because of the 35th and 62nd-place finishes for
Ashley LaPointe and
Caitlyn Most, respectively.
Both cross country teams will look to continue to have success on October 8 at the Cowbell Classic in Elsah, Ill.
