The Lindenwood women's tennis team concluded the fall portion of its schedule with two dual matches on Saturday afternoon in Evansville, Ind. The Lions opened the afternoon with a hard-fought match against Southern Indiana, ultimately resulting in a 5-4 loss, and ended the day with an 8-1 loss against Bellarmine.
During its first match of the day against Southern Indiana, Lindenwood collected victories during four of the six singles matches, but failed to register a win during doubles play.
Anna Barbasheva posted a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles, while
Dana Minakova needed three sets to earn the victory at the No. 2 draw.
Kylie McCarthy and
Savannah Martin secured victories at the No. 5 and No. 6 slots, respectively.
In its second match of the day versus Bellarmine, Lindenwood recorded its lone victory at No. 2 singles as Minakova again won in three sets.
Minakova completes the fall schedule with a 6-2 record during her eight matches, and is now a perfect 2-0 during dual competition.
Lindenwood will return to action on February 2, 2018 for a dual match with William Jewell in Liberty, Mo.
