Cross Country Competes in the Southern Stampede on Saturday

The men's and women's cross country team competed in the Southern Stampede on Saturday in Joplin, Mo. as the men placed 10th and the women finished 32nd on the day.

The two squads ran against many familiar teams from the MIAA, but also saw some schools from the Division I level.  Omar Es Salmouny had the best finish for the Lions after running a 25:17.92 in the 8K run which was good for a 17th-place finish.  Lindenwood had three runners finish in the top-25 while only two teams from the MIAA finished better than the Lions.

Kayli Brower ran a 19:35.88 in the 5K run as she had the best time for Lindenwood on the women's side.  The Lions finished above MIAA-foe Lincoln by 113 points.

Lindenwood will be back in action Sep. 30 in Fayetteville, Ark. for the Chile Pepper Festival that will begin in the morning.
