Table Tennis Earns Multiple Top Finishes at Aurora Open

The table tennis team earned eight, top-three finishes at the Aurora Open January 13-14 at the Vaughan Athletic Center in Aurora, Illinois.

Alex Legaria was one of two Lions to win a division as he captured first place in the U2400 event.  He also took fourth place in Open Doubles.  The other championship belonged to Massao Kohatsu, who won the U2600 event.  He also finished third in Open Singles and partnered with Jeff Yamada for third place in Open Doubles.  Yamada also took third place in the U2600 event.

Three Lions earned runner-up finishes.  Santiago Sevilla finished second in the U2300 event, Filip Cajka took second in the U2200 event, and Rick Gray finished second in the U2000 division.  Gray also earned a fourth place showing in the 50 and Over event.

Table tennis is idle for two weekends before returning to action at the NCTTA Division 2 tournament February 3 at Evan's Commons in St. Charles, Missouri.
