SEASON OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood men's golf team competed in six tournaments in 2019-20, before the season was cut short in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The Lions compiled two all-GLVC golfers on the year, as Joe MacNeil and Liam Bentein led the team with low scores of 73.44 and 74.44, respectively.  Lindenwood had one of its best rounds in program history during the fall season, posting a team score of 269 (-19) in the second round at the Kentucky Wesleyan Fall Invitational.

HIGHLIGHTS
The Lions took third place at the Kentucky Wesleyan Fall Invitational, roaring to a stellar -19 in the second round.  MacNeil led the way with a -11 during the weekend, as he posted scores of 65 and 68.  Caleb Picker tallied a 73 in the first round, but closed out the invitational with a 66 for a tournament total of -6.  After winning the Kentucky Wesleyan Fall Inviational, MacNeil was named GLVC Golfer of the Week.

In the following tournament, the were led by Bentein.  The freshman put together scores of 70, 72, and 72 for a -2 in the three rounds at the Midwest Regional Preview.  Bentein tied for first place to earn a spot on the all-tournament team, as he registered 38 pars to lead the field.

QUOTABLE
"This season was obviously disappointing for us with it being cut short," said head coach Derek Schaub.  "Coming off of arguably our best season in program history we had high expectations. With many new faces in the mix it took us sometime to gain confidence.  Some younger players took on much larger roles, and I felt we were just starting to reach our potential when the season was ended early.  Very excited for next season with all 12 guys returning and the addition of two new players.  John Gardner and Jordan Breen, two incoming freshman that should both make an immediate impact, so we have high hopes and expectations for 2020-21."
