The Lindenwood women's cross country team accumulated a sixth place finish at the GLVC Championships in Romeoville, Ill., while the men's team finished in ninth.
Najwa Chouati and
Rachael Morrison earned All-GLVC honors for the women, while
Louis Moreau took home All-GLVC accolades on the men's side.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Louis Moreau collected his second-straight top 10 finish at the GLVC Championships for the men's team, racing to a time of 24:29.08, for 8th place.
- Bramwell Havi (29th) collected a time of 25:14.56 in the competition.
- Brady Mello (79th), Timothy Maxwell (82nd), and Maxime Touron (85th) were the third through fifth runners to cross the line for Lindenwood.
- Luke Talbot tallied a time of 26:57.02 for 92nd place at the Championships. Brody Hudson crossed the finish line with a time of 27:59.07 for the Lions.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Najwa Chouati finished 4th at the GLVC Championships, the second-straight season that she finished in the top 10 at the conference Championships.
- Rachael Morrison also raced to a top 10 finish for the Lions, and secured her first-career All-GLVC honor. Both Morrison and Chouati collected the top two 6k times in program NCAA-era history.
- Courtney Reid (23:42.96) finished in 46th for Lindenwood, while Kirsten Huffman (23:49.05) finished just behind Reid in 49th place.
- Athena Viers and Nadia Pulliam finished in 74th and 75th place, respectively.
- Emma Hubbell (88th) and Sydney Reid (135th) were the final two Lindenwood runners to cross the finish line.
AWARDS
GLVC JAMES R. SPALDING SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD
Lewis was honored as the GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award winner, while 15 student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior were also named as their sport's honoree for the award. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.
