The Lions earned first place in both the men's and women's races on Friday in Elsah, Ill. at the Border War Championships. Najwa Chouati (1st) and Rachael Morrison (3rd) finished in the top three for the women as they earned first place as a team. Louis Moreau was the first runner to cross the finish line on the men's side, as the men's team came in third overall.

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

• Louis Moreau earned 1st with a time of 25:29.26. It is the second time this season that Moreau has finished in first place.
• Bramwell Havi captured a top 10 placement after coming in 8th. He recorded a time of 26:40.48.
• Maxime Touron finished with his second-highest placement of the season (27:24.93) as he earned 11th.
• Timothy Maxwell tallied a top 20 finish with a time of 27:50.66. Luke Talbot finished 20th after recording a time of 27:58.59.
• Brady Mello (28:07.63) and Brody Hudson (29:02.93) finished 23rd and 33rd, respectively.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

• Najwa Chouati and Rachael Morrison have been a dynamic duo for the Lions this season. Chouati earned her third first place finish of 2021 with a time of 18:15.64. Morrison earned her third top-three placement after tallying a time of 18:56.68.
• Courtney Reid raced to 8th with a time of 19:58.47.
• Kirsten Huffman was the fourth of the four Lions to finish in the top 10, earning 10th, with a time of 20:21.97.
• Athena Viers finished just behind Huffman, notching a time of 20:24.46, finishing 12th.
• Nadia Pulliam (15th), Emma Hubbell (25th), and Sydney Reid (39th) rounded out the runners for Lindenwood.
