Sara Lake the Lindenwood women's wrestling team won the 2021 Lindenwood Women's Open on Sunday at Hyland Arena. The freshman trio went a combined 12-0, including six pins and five technical falls on the day vaulting the Lions to a score of 117.0 team points, which was tops among the 14 schools represented.
Condit, a freshman from Littleton, Colorado tech-falled her first two opponents and pinned her next two in a combined 58 seconds to win the title at 123lbs.
Willden, a California native in her first year at Lindenwood, tallied one pin and three technical falls on the day, including a 16-6 win in the 136lb finals.
Lake, who is also a freshman, pinned her first three opponents before winning the championship at 155lbs by injury default. None of Lake's three matches went longer than 1:26.
On the day, the Lions had 16 pins and 7 technical falls, both of which were the highest total by any team in the tournament.
Here are some other standout performances on the day
- Jasmine Ward (130lbs) – 2-2 on the day, including a technical fall and a pin, good enough for 2nd place on the day
- Alina Arana (190 lbs) – 4-1 on the day, with all of her victories by fall and finished in 2nd place
- Kaycee Fitero (190lbs) – 3-2 on the day, all three of her victories were also by fall and finished in 3rd place

The Lions are off until Wednesday, December 1 when they host Fontbonne and Central Methodist in a tri-meet at 6pm.
