The Lindenwood men's soccer team wrapped up its 2021 regular season schedule this past weekend and have earned a postseason berth. The Lions will be making their second GLVC Championship Tournament appearance in the last three years after missing the tournament in 2020. The Championships are set to begin on Sunday, with the quarterfinals.
Lindenwood concluded the 2021 season with a 6-6-3 record, including a 6-5-3 mark inside conference play. The Lions will enter the postseason as the eighth seed, setting up a matchup with top-seeded Indianapolis on Sunday, November 7 at 2:30 p.m. ET from Indianapolis, Ind.
Earlier this season, the Lions welcomed the Greyhounds to Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. Lindenwood trailed for most of the match until
Milaim Hysa provided a late goal, which sent the game into overtime. Goalkeeper
Zachary Martin put together a strong performance, recording a career-high 10 saves en route to a 1-1 draw. The result gave UIndy just its second draw of the season.
Each of the four quarterfinal winners will advance to the GLVC Championship Tournament semifinals, which will be hosted on the campus of the highest remaining seed. The two semifinal contests will be played on Friday, Nov. 12, while the finals will take place Sunday, Nov. 14.
