Behind another stellar performance from freshman
Cayden Condit, the Lindenwood women's wrestling team placed third as a team at the Inaugural Missouri Women's College Championships held at Missouri Baptist on Saturday. Condit won the title at 123lbs, while six other wrestlers placed on the podium.
Condit, a freshman from Littleton, Colorado, won all three of her matches, including a dominating technical fall over Olson from William Jewell in 1:32 to claim the crown at 123. Condit improves to 15-0 on the year, including five wins by pin and 10 tech falls.
Here are some other notable performances for the Lions on the day.
- Jasmine Ward (130 lbs) finished 1-1 good for 2nd
- Athena Willden (136 lbs) 4-1 on the day and avenged her only loss of the day by defeating Gianna Moreno of Missouri Valley College 11-5 to win 3rd place
- Kelly Escamilla (143 lbs) 2-1 on the day and placed 2nd
- Kaycee Fitero (191 lbs) lost her opening round match but went 2-0 following that, including a pin over Alexis Cole of William Jewell) to win 3rd place
The Lions return to the mat next weekend when the travel to Naperville, Illinois for the North Central College Open on Saturday, December 11.
