Michael Baska of Rugby Debuts for USA

Lindenwood University has produced another international player in Michael Baska who debuted for the USA against England on the Fourth of July at London's Twickenham Stadium.

The Kansas City, Mo. native, USA Rugby Collegiate All-American, and Lindenwood national champion played in his first match ever at senior international level after entering the match at scrum half in the 70th minute.

Baska provided energy off the bench in an admirable performance for the USA against No. 3 ranked England and capped off an impressive second half surge for the USA by assisting fellow debutant Christian Dyer in an exciting long-range score. Click here for footage.

By earning his first cap (international appearance) this weekend, Baska becomes the sixth Lindenwood Lion to pass through St. Charles and represent the USA Eagles, the most recent being 2019 graduate Chance Wenglewski.

Baska, a 2017 graduate of Lindenwood, is one of a dozen Lions plying his trade in professional rugby. He has played for the Utah Warriors since obtaining his degree, is a regular starter and in the midst of a playoff push in Major League Rugby when he returns from international duty.

The USA Eagles' next match is against No. 4 Ireland on Saturday, July 10 at Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Kick off is set for 1:00am CST and can be watched on florugby.com.
