Women's bowling finished fifth while the men took seventh at the National Team Match Games November 19-20 in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
In a high scoring environment, the Lady Lions sat in seventh place after the first two team games on Saturday, but then erupted with games of 1,056, 1,049, and 1,056. That was enough to push Lindenwood all the way to third in the "tier 1" major event. The Lady Lions cooled off in the final game, but a total of 5,861 was good enough for fourth place after day one, just 83 pins behind Wichita State in third.
Sunday featured 20 baker games and Lindenwood started slowly the first three sets, only managing a high of 732. That dropped the Lady Lions to fifth place, 72 pins behind Webber International in fourth, but only three pins ahead of Davenport in sixth, and just 45 pins ahead of SCAD – Savannah in seventh, but Lindenwood erupted once again, finishing the day with sets of 862 and 797, including five games in the 200's with a high of 235. Meanwhile, the Lions started well with games of 1,082 and 1,039 to sit in fifth place after the first two games, but the rest of the day was up and down. That launched Lindenwood back to fifth place and within striking distance of the teams in third and fourth, but the Lions couldn't keep that pace and finished with sets of 794 and 762. With a grand total of 10,334, Lindenwood settled for seventh, finishing 64 pins behind Mount Mercy in sixth and 94 pins behind SCAD – Savannah in fifth.
