The 2022 Lindenwood indoor track and field season wrapped up on Saturday at the NCAA Division II National Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas. Junior
Rachael Morrison set a new school record in the women's mile, finishing in 15th place in a time of 4:52.28. The junior from Huntley, Illinois was the final qualifier into the field and has had a terrific indoor season, shaving over 12 seconds off her previous career best this year.
The other group of Lions who qualified for the meet, was the men's 4x400 meter relay. The group of
Damaine Dixon,
Dorian Leda,
Boris Charles and
Jameel Walkes-Miller were disqualified in their race due to a bad baton exchange between runners. Walkes-Miller was initially an alternate for the Lions, but filled in for
Samuel Yaro who was unable to compete in the 4x400 or the 400 meter individual race he qualified for.
The Lindenwood outdoor season kicks off, March 25 at Saint Louis University.
