On Friday, the GLVC announced that nine Lindenwood women's lacrosse players received all-GLVC honors for the 2022 season.
Bridget Considine,
Logann Eldredge,
Emma Arnold and
Alyssa Kneedler all represented the Lions as first-team all-GLVC selections, while
Kym Ardrey,
Kelsey Long,
Eleanor Kast, and
Paige Sutton collected second-team honors.
Kate MacDonell was recognized on the honorable mention squad, and
Meghan Rea received the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award.
Considine currently leads the Lions with 50 goals this season, while also sitting atop both Lindenwood and GLVC leaderboards in assists, tallying 29 total so far. The Stony Brook transfer has recorded 78 total points in her 16 games as a Lion, ranking first on the team and third in the GLVC for most overall points. Considine also ranks second in the GLVC for most points per game with an average of 5.27 per game. The Rockville Centre, N.Y. native bagged both GLVC and IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week awards back in March as well, making her the lone Lion to be recognized as a national player of the week this season.
Eldredge is also one that had an immediate impact on her new team after transferring in from a successful rookie year at Fresno State. The sophomore attacker is right behind Considine in both goals (46) and assists (21), putting her at 67 total points so far this season. Eldredge ranks third in the GLVC in assists and sixth in the conference for points per game, sitting at 3.81 average thus far.
Kneedler returned to the first-team for a second season in a row, while Arnold claimed her spot on the list after being named second-team all-GLVC last season. Kneedler has been a defensive mainstay for the Lions all year long, scooping up 20 total ground balls and causing 11 total turnovers so far, while Arnold has proven to be a powerful force on both sides of the ball, racking up extensive offensive and defensive stats this season. the junior has the third most caused turnovers per game in the GLVC (1.56) while also racking up 22 goals and 16 assists. Arnold has also scooped up 26 ground balls and won 25 draw controls this year.
Kast has played a major role in the Lions' success so far this year, tallying 110 saves overall and sitting at a strong 14-3 goalkeeping record. The senior currently is ranked No. 1 in the GLVC for her 8.45 goals against average and has garnered two more GLVC Defensive Player of the Week awards this season, adding to her career total three overall. Ardrey and Long also have been key parts of Lindenwood's defensive presence, with Ardrey scooping up 26 ground balls and causing seven turnovers, and Long tallying 22 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers.
Sutton is another player who has provided great versatility for the Lions, tallying the third most goals for the Lions with 29 overall, as well as adding 14 total assists to her stat line thus far. The senior attacker has also contributed 11 ground balls and nine caused turnovers on the year, proving to be solid on both sides of the ball. MacDonell rounds things out for the Lions with her honorable mention recognition, being a force in the draw control realm with 36 won so far this year, as well as scooping up 16 total ground balls.
Finally, Rea was recognized as an individual in good academic standing, as well as being someone who's demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting, making her a strong nominee for the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award.
