Tennis Season Review

QUICK HITS
The Lindenwood women's tennis program completed its spring season with an 8-7 record, including a 6-3 mark at home, while the men's team finished 6-7 overall and a 6-1 mark in St. Charles.

Both teams earned wins over Southern Indiana in GLVC play, while the men added a league victory against McKendree and the women versus Missouri-St. Louis. The women also claimed a victory over DI Saint Louis, picking up the program's first win against the Billikens.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
- The women's squad earned one of their two road wins at Principia in February. The Lions combined earned the 7-0 victory, with each singles player capping their respective win in straight sets. Juliana Kulczynski, Jordan Le, and Eveline Nilsson each claimed 6-0, 6-0 wins.

- The men picked up their biggest win of the spring against Southern Indiana, grounding the Screaming Eagles, 5-2, in St. Charles. The pairings of Juan Pablo Herrera / Francisco Diaz and Anton de la Puente / Rodrigo Rattes claimed tight doubles victories in the early going, before Herrera, Diaz, and Puente – along with Juan Balbin – secured the team win in singles competition.

- The Lions grabbed their all-important doubles point in their huge win over Saint Louis in April, before Natalia Cordero and Paula Sostres Pico joined Kulczynski and Nillsin in earning singles victories. Not only was it the first time in program history Lindenwood downed the Billikens, but it was the first time the team claimed a single point, as two previously losses ended 9-0.

- Herrera and Diaz earned a 6-2 doubles win in the men's match with Saint Louis. Balbin and Herrera each split their respective singles contest, 1-1, before the contest officially ended in Saint Louis' favor.

- Mattis Lamm and Guillaume Teste joined Diaz, Herrera, and Puente on the Academic All-GLVC list, which recognizes student-athletes who earn a minimum 3.3 GPA over the course of the year. On the women's side, nine Lions were honored the league distinction: Cordero, Minna Kahn, Le, Raphaelle Margueron, Claire Martin, Fernanda Poblete, Kulczynski, Pico, and Trang Tran.
