On Tuesday morning, the Collge Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for Women's Tennis was announced. Lindenwood had four members of the 2026 squad make the list, which included
Michelle Trochez,
Fabiana Labrador,
Paola Garcia, and
Sofija Dunisijevic.
Leading the way for the Lions was Trochez, who finished with a cumulative GPA of 4.0. The Senior from Houston, TX is majoring in Fashion Design and Technology and compiled four singles wins as well as three doubles wins this past season. Transfer Graduate Student
Sofija Dunisijevic had a 3.83 GPA during her time at Lindenwood, and ended with a 3.90 GPA as an undergraduate at McKendree University. Dunisijevic is majoring in marketing and led the Lions in 2026 with 10 singles wins at the number five spot, while adding three doubles wins.
Rounding out the selections for LU was
Fabiana Labrador and
Paola Garcia. Labrador, a Junior from Caracas, Venezuela, had a GPA of 3.75 and is majoring in IT. Labrador played at the number one singles spot all season long and went 7-8 overall in singles play with an OVC record of 3-2 as she earned her second straight All-OVC First Team selection this season. She was the only Lion to be selected as a CSC Academic All-American finalist. First, second, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 2, 2026.
Meanwhile, Garcia posted a GPA of 3.56 and is majoring in Criminology. The Junior from Anzoategui, Venezuela ended the season tied for second on the team in singles wins with nine, while leading the Lions in doubles wins with four.
Student-athletes must be in the lineup for 75 percent of competitions with a team score, and must be at least a Sophomore both academically and athletically to be considered. One must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher as well.
