On Thursday morning, the Ohio Valley Conference released the 2026 Women's Tennis All-OVC teams, which featured two Lindenwood Lions. Fabiana Labrador was named to the All-OVC First Team for the second straight season, while Megan Caffin was tabbed an All-OVC Second Team selection to pick up her first postseason accolade in her Lindenwood career. Both Caffin and Labrador went 3-2 in singles play during OVC matches, and both won two doubles matches during conference play to tie for the team lead in doubles victories. With Labrador and Caffin earning All-OVC selections, this marks the first time that the Lions have ever had two or more All-Conference players in Women's Tennis during the Division I Era.
Overall, Labrador won six singles matches during the 2026 season and surpassed her 2025 season total, where she won five. The Junior from Venezuela has posted back-to-back seasons in which she has won three OVC singles matches at the number one spot, and started off her 2026 campaign with an OVC record of 2-1 after winning back-to-back singles matches over WIU's Mana Fawcett in three sets and taking down TSU's Jovana Nikolic in straight sets. She ended her OVC regular season with her second two-set victory of conference play with a 6-3, 6-1 win over SEMO's Maja Bajorek to improve her record to 3-2 in the Ohio Valley Conference and added her sixth singles win overall. Labrador also took home one OVC Doubles Team of the Week honors during the season with her partner Paola Garcia on March 31. The duo picked up a 6-1 victory at the number one doubles spot on March 25 over Tennessee State's Claudia Murdasanu and Taylor Ellis for their largest margin of victory in a doubles match during the 2026 season.
Meanwhile, Megan Caffin split her time between the number two and three spots in 2026 and ended the regular season with eight singles victories and two doubles victories, both of which happened during conference play. Caffin won four straight singles matches spanning from March 18 through March 25, which led her to be named the OVC Singles Player of the Week on March 24 after starting off OVC play with a 2-0 singles record by defeating USI's Rylie Wilkison and WIU's Richardlyne Francois in straight sets. The Sophomore from the Netherlands finished second on the 2026 squad with eight singles victories and was 2-1 in doubles play during OVC matches, picking up wins over USI's Claire Meyer and Rylie Wilkison by a score of 6-2, and a 7-5 victory over TSU's Jovana Nikolic and Victoria Cooksey with her partner Mathilde Humbert.
Labrador, Caffin, and the rest of the Lions will return to action tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. when they will take on the #5 seed Western Illinois Leathernecks in the first round of the OVC Tournament. The winner will move on to the OVC semifinals where they will face the #1 seed SIUE Cougars on Saturday, April 18 at 10 a.m.Â
