It was an intense day for the Lindenwood women's wrestling team. There were several bright spots for the ladies as they started the season.
In the 109 class, Kate Cooper defeated Hailey Holland of Missouri Valley College for a third-place finish. In the 116, Caitlyn Thorne took second after falling to Flavia Nagatani of Iowa Western CC in the first-place match. Amanda McAleavey finished in third after she defeated Wartburg's Liannette Ortiz. In the 130, Cayden Condit won first, defeating Tatiana Garcia of William Penn by fall over.
The 143, Justice Seely finished in sixth after dropping her match to Olivia Cotton by fall over. Emma Thomas concluded the meet with fifth in the 170 after defeating Emma Carter of Central College. The 191 class saw Kennedy Eggering and Makayla Rivera finish in third and fifth respectively. Eggering was victorious over Skyler Bruno of Waldorf and Rivera defeated Indian Hills' Brooke Burns.
In the Freshman/Sophomore weight classes, there were a few Lindenwood athletes to experience success. In the 136 class, Marissa Sanabria won by tech fall over Princess Altsisi of Iowa Central for a first place finish while teammate Hayley Gildon finished in third after falling to Malia Kehne. In the 143, Alana Duggan took second after dropping her match by tech fall to Eve Herlyn.
