Women's ACHA ice hockey dropped the series finale to Minot State 4-1 Saturday afternoon in a Women's Midwest College Hockey (WMCH) game at MAYSA Arena in Minot, North Dakota.
The Lions fell behind just 54-seconds into the contest, but took advantage of a power play eight minutes later when
Loki Antonio fed
MacKenzie Drost at 8:53. Despite a barrage of shots from the Beavers, the game remained tied 1-1 until an unassisted effort gave Minot State the lead for good. Power play goals from the Beavers late in the second and early in the third provided the final margin.
Minot State outshot Lindenwood 59-25, but
Emily McDonald did everything she could to help the Lions, making 55 saves on the 59 shots she faced.
With the loss, Lindenwood dropped to 4-10-1 in WMCH play and to 5-15-1 overall, extending a winless streak to 10. The Lions will try to salvage a victory from the road trip when they face the University of Jamestown Sunday afternoon. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Arena in Jamestown, North Dakota.
