Denton McNamee Added to Baseball Staff

Lindenwood head baseball coach PJ Finigan has announced the addition of Denton McNamee as an assistant coach.

"We are absolutely thrilled to be adding Denton McNamee to our staff with Lindenwood Baseball", said Finigan.  "His track record of player development and advanced knowledge of baseball technology was evident throughout the entire process.  Denton is an excellent complement to our current baseball staff, and he already shares a passion for Lindenwood and the greater St. Louis baseball community.  I cannot wait for him to get to work with our student-athletes."

McNamee comes to Lindenwood after spending the last three seasons at Maryville University where he oversaw the Saints Strength and Conditioning program as well as working primarily with the pitching staff.

Last season, Maryville set the school record for wins with 36 and earned its first NCAA DII Regional Berth in program history. The squad also cracked the top 25 rankings for the first time in school history a year ago. Under the direction of McNamee, Maryville registered a team record for strikeouts (419) in 2022, a year in which the Saints posted 32 victories.

Prior to joining the Saints coaching staff, McNamee worked for the Houston Astros in their Player Development department. He was stationed with the Quad Cities River Bandits, an Astros affiliate. There he helped them win the MWL first half championship as the River Bandits led the league in fielding percentage and stolen bases. The River Bandits also saw 17 promotions throughout the season.

McNamee grew up in St. Louis, Mo., and attended Christian Brothers College High School. He played collegiately at Rockhurst University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and a Business Certificate. He also achieved his Master's in Sports Management from Rockhurst University.
