The Lindenwood men's golf team concluded the fall portion of its schedule with an eighth-place finish at the LaTour Intercollegiate in Matthews, La. The Lions shot a combined 878
OVERVIEW
The Lions shot a 294 across the opening 18 holes, led by
Santiago Juesas Benet who fired a three-under 69 in the first round, one off his season-low. He used the help of five birdies to get to his score. Following him was
Renato Filho and
Brennan Strubberg who carded a 73 and 74, respectively. Strubberg had four birdies during his opening round. Playing as an individual,
Sam Emrick tied his season-low during the first round with a 74, which included a pair.Â
Juesas paced Lindenwood once again in round two with a two-under 70, aided by five birdies.
Mackenzie Holmes also had a team-high five birdies in the second round as he finished with a 74. Filho also shot a 74, while the lineup was rounded out by Strubberg with a 75 and
Samuel Bergenstein who shot a 76. Overall, the Black and Gold shot a 293 across the second 18 and sat in a tie for eighth after day one. Individually, Juesas was in second.
Lindenwood carded its best round of the tournament on the final day, earning a 291 as Filho and Strubberg each recorded a 71. Strubberg played well on the front nine, recording a two-under. Coming in just behind them was Juesas Benat who fired a 74 as he wrapped up his tournament in a tie for sixth. Bergensten notched his best round of the tournament with a 75, while Holmes and Emrick tallied a 77. Overall, the Lions finished in eighth place.
