Clay Wieter of the Lindenwood men's volleyball team has been named the Midwestern Independent Volleyball Association (MIVA) Offensive Player of the Week, as announced on Tuesday.
Wieter put together a strong week last week, helping the Lions to wins over Quincy and Erskine, respectively. In those two matches, the St. Louis, Mo. native hit .422 with 26 kills, while adding 10 digs and two blocks on the defensive end. Â He had just one reception error in 36 attempts.
In the win over Erskine, Wieter tallied 16 kills, while hitting an outstanding .542, his second-best percentage of the season. So far this year, the redshirt junior leads Lindenwood in kills with 202, and digs with 102.
Wieter and the rest of the Lions will be back in action this Friday, taking on Purdue Fort Wayne at 6:00 p.m. CT. in Fort Wayne, Ind.
