Lindenwood Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Jason Coomer announced Wednesday that
Nadia Alexander-Pompey will be stepping down after leading the cross country and track and field programs for the past two seasons. Alexander-Pompey will remain as the Director of Cross Country/Track & Field until a successor is found.
"I want to thank Coach for all that she has done for our program," said Coomer. "She will be sorely missed as she has made a significant impact on the lives of many. While we are sad to see her go, we are excited about what the future holds for her and her family."
During her tenure, Alexander-Pompey coached the 2022 Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Female Freshman of the Year,
Holly Harding, while multiple athletes have placed at the OVC Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Jameel Walkes Miller set a new program record in the 200 Meter and Landon Oxford broke the program record in the 400 Meter Hurdles this past season at the championships. Under Alexander-Pompey,
Gabby Russina broke the 400m program record at the Music City Challenge on April 28-29, 2023.
"This was a difficult decision to make," said Alexander-Pompey. "I came to Lindenwood and fell in love with the campus and community. The Lions will always be dear to my family and I. We are forever grateful to our AD Jason Coomer and his staff for all that they have done for me and the program during my tenure. I wish all the teams nothing but success as they continue through the reclassification process."
A nationwide search for the next Director of Cross Country/Track & Field will begin immediately.
