Alander Soares has become the newest Lindenwood Men's Soccer player to win a player of the week award in the Ohio Valley Conference. On Tuesday morning, the OVC announced that Soares was the Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals and registering four points in wins over Incarnate Word and Houston Christian.
The 5'10 Sophomore Forward from Brazil joins eight of his teammates who have previously won a player of the week award during the 2025 season. Soares totaled 97 minutes in two games played and had five shots on the week with four of them being on goal. He scored his third goal of the season on Thursday night in the 2-0 win over Incarnate Word and opened up the scoring in Sunday's contest against HCU to lead the OVC in goals for the week with two. Alander now has four goals on the 2025 season, and ranks tied for second on the team in goals scored.
The Lions will hit the road this weekend to take on Southern Indiana at 1 p.m. in Evansville, Indiana for one of their final road trips of the regular season.
