Meghan Donoughue of the Lindenwood women's volleyball team has been named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Setter and Freshman of the Week following her performance at the Hampton Inn and Suites Seahawks Classic in Wilmington over the weekend.
The redshirt freshman from Friendswood, Texas totaled 108 assists over three matches for an average of 9.00 assists per set, as the Lions hit .247 as a team. She also collected 16 kills, 32 digs, and seven blocks.
In her Lindenwood debut, Donoughue recorded a double-double with 38 assists and 16 digs while adding seven kills and a pair of blocks in the Lions' 3-1 win over UNC Wilmington.
She followed that up with a 29-assist outing in Lindenwood's sweep of NC Central before capping off the tournament with another double-double against Virginia Tech, posting 41 assists and 11 digs to help the Lions to a 3-2 comeback win over the Hokies.
Donoughue and the Lions will be back in action this week at the Mary Jo Wynn Invitational in Springfield. Lindenwood will take on Missouri State on Friday, September 4
th at 6 p.m., DePaul on Saturday at 4 p.m., and UTSA on Sunday at 12 p.m.Â
