Season Preview

The Lindenwood Women's Tennis team is coming off a 5-10 season in 2025 and will look to bounce back in 2026. The Lions were picked to finish fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Polls on January 23 garnering 15 votes and finishing ahead of Southern Indiana (11) and Tennessee State (7) in the polls. Lindenwood returns five players from the 2025 squad and welcomes in newcomers Sofija Dunisijevic and Mathilde Humbert to the 2026 team. Fabiana Labrador is among the returners from a season ago, and posted a 5-8 record at the number one spot followed by fellow returner Paola Garcia, who went 4-2 at the number four spot. Garcia and Labrador posted the best doubles record in 2025, with a 4-1 record as the number two duo. Along with the preseason polls being released, Megan Caffin was named to the 2026 OVC Preseason Players To Watch list for this upcoming season. Caffin is coming off a Fall season in which she picked up four singles wins and three doubles win across three tournaments. 

About The Panthers and Bulldogs 
Northern Iowa is 0-1 so far this season and dropped their season opener to SEMO by a score of 2-5. Sophomore Andjela Raznatovic and Freshman Lucia Schuknecht won at the number one and three spots in straight sets to give the Panthers their first two points of the 2026 season. Raznatovic went 12-13 overall last season at the number four singles position and was a second team All-MVC selection a season ago. 

Drake enters with an overall record of 0-2 dropping their first two matches of the season to North Dakota and SEMO by scores of 3-4 in both matches at home. Sophomore Jana Ruzic won both of her singles matches at the number four spot and sits at an overall record of 2-0 on the 2026 season.
