The Lindenwood Men's Soccer team defeated the UTRGV Vaqueros 3-1 at home on Thursday night, with David Magalhaes, Eddy Mwanje, and Luke Neely each finding the back of the net in the victory. Neely also made a crucial defensive play, using his head to clear a Vaquero shot headed for the back of the net as the Lions' defense recorded five total saves in the contest. Quinn Closson recorded four of those saves in the match against UTRGV, which marked his third match this season with at least four stops.Â
With Thursday's win, Lindenwood moved into sole possession of first place in the OVC standings with eight points. Mwanje also extended his point streak to three consecutive matches and leads the Lions in conference play with four points on one goal and two assists.
