The Lions fell to 3-2 overall on the 2026 season with a 4-0 loss at Missouri on March 1. Fabiana Labrador and Paola Garcia were able to take two sets at the number one doubles spot, but ultimately fell 6-2, while Megan Caffin won three sets against her opponent at the number three spot and Garcia won two sets at the number four spot. 

Scouting Omaha
The Mavericks are 7-7 on the 2026 Spring season, and have won five of their last seven matches entering the matchup with the Lions. Four of their wins during their latest stretch has come over Western Illinois, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, and Chicago State. Omaha is led by Junior Khayli Buckels who is 5-2 at the number one spot this season. At the number two spot, Sophomore Nina Wiese is 7-0 and is followed by fellow Sophomore Katelynn Kock who has nine wins at the number three spot and has 10 total wins to lead the Mavericks. 

The matchup on Friday will mark the second all-time meeting between the two squads with Omaha leading the all-time series 1-0 with an 8-1 win in St.Charles back in 2012.
