The Lindenwood Women's Tennis team begins their first competition of the Fall season on Friday as they will welcome in SIUE and Wash U for the Lindenwood Invite held at the Lindenwood Tennis Courts in St. Charles, Missouri. The Lions are coming off their best season in the Division I era in 2025-26, winning eight matches in the Spring and advancing to the OVC Tournament Semifinal for the first time since the move to Division I. LU returns five players from a season ago in
Fabiana Labrador,
Megan Caffin,
Paola Garcia,
Mathilde Humbert, and
Sarah Ben Aba, while also adding three Freshman to the 2026-27 roster in
Haylen Hughes,
Sofia Loglo, and
Danielle Wei.Â
Among the returners, Labrador and Caffin were named to the All-OVC First and Second Teams during the 2025-26 season, respectively. Labrador played at the number one spot all season long, where she collected seven total singles wins and three doubles wins throughout the season, including two doubles and three singles victories during OVC play.
Meanwhile, Caffin was named an OVC Preseason player to watch and did not disappoint. The Sophomore from the Netherlands finished with a singles record of 9-6, which ranked tied for second on the squad in total number of singles wins, and collected five of her nine wins at the number three spot. Caffin also tied for the team lead in doubles victories during conference play with two, which led her to be named to the All-OVC Second Team.Â
Newcomers
Danielle Wei, a Freshman from Saint Augustine, Florida, played at the number one spot as a Senior in high school and led her team to win the State Championship last year. Wei will look to strengthen the Lions lineup along with
Haylen Hughes and
Sofia Loglo in 2026-27.Â

The Lions will travel to Evansville, Indiana on September 25 for the OVC Fall Championships. The Tournament will run from Friday, September 25 until Sunday, September 27.Â
