BRENTWOOD, Tenn. –
Peyton Johnson has earned her second consecutive Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week award following her performance against Murray State on Sunday.
Johnson played all 90 minutes in Lindenwood's shutout win over Murray State, with the Lions allowing just two shots on goal in the match.
She was also a force offensively, recording three shots on goal and heading a cross into the back of the net for the game winning goal in the 63rd minute as she registered the first points of her collegiate career.
Johnson has not left the field for Lindenwood this season, playing all 720 minutes of the Lions' eight contests. She is the only LU player other than goalkeeper
Caroline Ritter to do so.
Johnson and the Lions host St. Thomas on Thursday afternoon for their final nonconference home match. Kickoff against the Tommies is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
