The Lindenwood Lady Lion tennis team won the first dual match of the year on Tuesday night against the Maryville Saints, 9-0.
In the doubles portion of the dual the Lions won all three matches by the same score of 8-2. The number one team of Adela Slovakova and Raminta Kazemekaityte beat Chelsea Travis and Erinne Haff, the duo of Allison Gilles and Sarah Sharpe were victorious over Victoria Robertson and Anne Kilian. In the final match of doubles Lady Lions Rachel Bailey and Elise Beckemeier beat Karen Schwarm and Anna Hindelang.
After the Lions swept the doubles competition, the singles was much of the same. Gilles played in the number one spot and beat Travis 6-0,6-2. Slovakova took care of Roberson 6-1,6-1 and Kazemekaityte upended Haff 6-4,6-0. In the final three matches the Lady Lions only lost five games all together. Sharpe was victorious over Kilian 6-1,6-0, Bailey beat Schwarm 6-1,6-2 and to wrap up the day Beckemeier beat Hindelang 6-1,6-0.
With the victory the Lady Lions have evened their record at 1-1 and will travel to Salina, Kansas for the Bethany College tournament.
